Cristina Lee's 22nd Birthday

The story goes like this...
My wife had recently got her hair cut shorter (because of the Phoenix heat) and was very frustrated that she could not do anything with her hair. Well being the perceptive husband that I am, I immediately picked up on this signal and went into the "fix it" mode. Her birthday was coming up and I knew there were some great Salon and Spa's in the area, one of which being Dolce'. It was a perfect opportunity for a great birthday present and also a wonderful surprise. All I told Cristina about her birthday present was this... 1. It would help her in the future. 2. She would not get so frustrated anymore. 3. There were three parts to it. (The first part being the salon and spa, the 2nd a shopping trip, and the third being a great dinner at the Melting Pot, all of which i never would tell her what they were.) 4. We had to be there by 10:30.  She was very surprised when we walked into the salon and spa for the first time and still had no clue what we were doing.
At the salon the first thing she had an appointment for was for her hair. A makeover would have been great, but this appointment was called "bring your own blow dryer" which meant not only did they do her hair but they would also teach her how to do it for herself. I thought this would be very beneficial for her when I saw it because most of her frustration comes over simply not knowing how.
The second part to her salon package was a makeup lesson. Here again they only did her makeup but taught her how to do it. All in all it was a great experience and a lot of fun for her (and for me because I got to photographically document the whole thing.) If you would like to see a slideshow of the whole day click on the link below.
